We are as we eat.
Make the connection
-
Grow your own food
Feeding over eight billion people requires a lot of land and a lot of resources. Unfortunately, much of the worlds farming comes at high environmental costs. Virgin forests are cleared, topsoils are depleted, chemical pesticides and fertilizers contaminate our lakes and rivers. Commercial agriculture accounts for over 10% of our greenhouse emissions. Roughly a third of all food grown is wasted or spoiled. You can address all of these concerns by simply planting your own garden or food forest.

Visit an organic farm
Take a trip to an organic farm. It’s common knowledge that organic farms can’t use synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. A less commonly known fact is that organic farms mimic natural systems in order to have minimal environmental impact on water, soil and other elements of the ecosystem. Make a difference in your community by supporting your local organic farm.

Catch your own
If you do eat meat, there is no better way to connect with your food source than getting out in nature and harvesting your own fish and game. Responsible and law abiding sportsmen know the value of our natural resources and ensure their protection and management through licensing fees.
